Details of the event/activity
The Nueva Ecija University of
Science and Technology (NEUST) - Training Department and the College of
Information and Communications Technology hosted the webinar I attended, titled
"Webinar Series on Basic Computer Animation," which is now focused on
"2D Animation." The series' first topic, "Illustration,"
was covered on September 9; the series' last topic, "3D Animation
Concepts," will be covered on September 22. In September, there will be
three days of webinars starting at 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Mr. Angelito I.
Cunanan Jr. is the presenter for each webinar series. He holds an MSIT and
works as faculty at NEUST-CICT.

Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)
I recognize the potential advantages
of this type of webinar for BSEMC students, particularly in our CAPSTONE project
in animation. The speaker first talked about how much he enjoys animated films
and showed Disney, Pixar, and other studios are among the numerous ones. The
speaker talked about his knowledge of 2D animation. In animation, when a character
moves, such as through "Inbetweening" or "Tweening"
production taught us how to animate using only a mouse and a keyboard in Adobe
Animate.methods for accelerating activities that call for numerous frames or
layers. He shows us a practical trick.because he was conscious of the
labor-intensive nature of animation.
Because of the way Mr. Gel interacts
with the students in this webinar, I find it to be both entertaining and
educational. The speaker cited examples from the Disney, Studio Ghibli, Pixar,
and other animation sectors. After demonstrating how it's done and how an
animated rough draft functions with sample clips from the company's studio, Mr.
Gel gives a thorough tutorial. Mr. Gel went on to explain how "Grid
Lines" aid animators in handling "tweening" or "inbetweening"
in 2D animation. Since Mr. Gel skillfully demonstrated the actual animation,
the emphasis was more on demonstration than instruction, even though the
majority of the aforementioned lessons—such as the production process and
storyboarding—had already been taught to us earlier this semester.
Nevertheless, we still comprehend what he taught us, and it was helpful because
Mr. Gel had already taught us earlier this semester. Since Mr. Gel demonstrated
how to use the shortcut keys in Adobe Animate, how to animate solely using the
mouse, and how to speed up work when there are numerous frames to complete,
this webinar has been quite helpful to me. Simply put, it's like seeing a life
hacks animation, thus as a BSEMC student, I really enjoyed it and learned a lot
from it. It was also a great reference for our Capstone 2D Animation project Before
it was through, Mr. Gel effectively covered the differences between the 12
Animation Pipelines and Principles as well as how to use them in Adobe Animate
with just a few basic examples. The speaker encourages us to love animation
projects because he views them as stressful work given how many hours and days
are required to complete a straightforward animation project. Then Mr. Gel shows
us an illustration of an animator's process and some tips for speeding up the
animation process.

Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a
practical level (practical application of learnings)
This webinar is very helpful to me
because it connects to our 2D animation-focused capstone project. Because I
want to learn more and improve my skills with 2D designing and animation, I
choose this day for the webinar series. It not only gave me a lot of ideas, but
it also helped me get better at animating, and it showed us how to make a
project in a quick, original style that was yet easy and appealing. My animation
portfolio will get better thanks to a tip the speaker gave me that will help me
land better animation-related employment or break into the field. Because of
this webinar, my enthusiasm for making tiny animation projects has increased,
which inspires me to pursue my goal of becoming a professional animator.
IV.
Positive feedback (on the event organization)
I enjoyed participating in
this webinar not just because of its subject matter 2D animation but also
because of how warm and welcoming the host speaker is. The Speaker helped us increased
our understanding of the entire field of animation and production. Beginning
with a discussion of various animation studios and their works, production
methods, storyboarding advice, and the book "The Animator's Survival
Kit" by Richard Williams, which is recommended for beginning animators, we
move on to the 12 animation principles, explaining how they are applied to
animations while demonstrating a real-world animation created with Adobe
Animate.
V.
Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities
I
found the webinar to be a full success because the host speaker, Mr. Gel, did a
great job of explaining the 2D Animation topic and demonstrating a real
step-by-step animation. Only the issue itself could be suggested for
improvement. The 12 animation principles are discussed, as well as the outputs
of an animation studio, various production kinds, and how to perform a
storyboard, during the entire webinar.
